I've been watching this dude a lot in training, pubs, and matches.
The underpinning reasons that I wanted to chose someone for this award were:
# teamwork
# willingness to learn
# improvement
# in game ability
# flamboyance in game
# awareness of how a game is played, and versatility.
I played a few maps with venom in practise a week or two ago, and with very short and intense instruction, his game rose unexpectedly quick. This isn't an invinsible player, but i know that the second i meet him halfway down the walkway, and it's purely him between me and a cp capture, I'm still gonna have to work pretty danged hard to get there.
He's improved immesurably over the past few weeks, and although sometimes his socres don't reflect it, he's got skill, and is a true team player. As a strategist, i know i can find a role, tell him to do it, and he'll bloody well do it. And if he cocks up, there's no whining, because he's straight back in there rectifying his errors.
Venom's improved, he's grown into a team player, his skills are definitely on the rise, along with confidence, and it genuinely seems he's starting to understand how a match functions, and what you need to do to win.
Therefore, Venom is 502nd's first Crusader Award winner, and with good merit i hope you'll agree
